When you pick up a hammer, wrench or paint brush this summer and join American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) at “Here Until the Work is Done VI” Ecumenical Work Week in New Orleans, you’ll not only be fixing buildings but also restoring homes, churches, communities and lives. Volunteer for all or part of the week of Aug. 5-11, 2012, and stand with ABHMS as it continues its commitment to rebuild the Gulf Coast seven years after Hurricane Katrina.

Activities include painting, laying sheet rock, cutting grass and running errands. Neither construction skills nor training is required. Unskilled volunteers will be supervised by skilled workers.

The week will also include opportunities for worship with people of faith from across the United States.

Individuals and groups of all ages are invited to participate.

For additional information, please click on the links below or call Victoria Goff at 800-222-3872, x2449. or e-mail Victoria.Goff@abhms.org.

Please be aware that the registration and skills-assessment forms must be completed and returned to ABHMS by July 6.
