When you pick up a hammer, wrench or paint brush this summer and join American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) at “Here Until the Work is Done VI” Ecumenical Work Week in New Orleans, you’ll not only be fixing buildings but also restoring homes, churches, communities and lives. ABHMS continues its commitment to rebuild the Gulf Coast seven years after Hurricane Katrina.
Activities include painting, laying sheet rock, cutting grass and running errands. Neither construction skills nor training is required. Unskilled volunteers will be supervised by skilled workers.
The week will also include opportunities for worship with people of faith from across the United States.
Individuals and groups of all ages are invited to participate.
