A Matter of Stewardship: Eco-justice in Biblical Perspective (672 KB PDF)
| |
This six-session study, which is designed for either personal or group use, explores the call to stewardship as it was first given to us. Participants are invited to set aside preconceptions and ask the question: “What does it mean that God created the world and invited human beings to ‘have dominion’ (Genesis 1:26) and to ‘till and keep the garden’ (Genesis 2:15)?”. This study is not just for those who have committed to environmentalism. It is for all Christians who seek to understand and be faithful in our role as the “crowned ones” (Psalms 8) within creation. |

Learning the Way: Reclaiming Wisdom from the Earliest Christian Communities
by Cassandra Carkuff Williams |
| |
How should the church respond to the cultural and societal changes going on around it? Should it reject the historic traditions of the past or reject the changes of modern society? This book suggests we should do neither, but instead recover and reclaim our foundations and reinterpret them for the present-day.
Proposing that "Discipleship is a way of being grounded in vocation, nurtured within community, and guided by tradition," Learning the Way: Reclaiming Wisdom from the Earliest Christian Communities provides practical guidance for 21st century discipleship formation drawn from the earliest communities of Jesus followers.

Modeling Mary in Christian Discipleship
by John Burns
