ABHMS e-newsletter garners award

American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) has received a 2010 “All Star Award” for its “News & Notes from American Baptist Home Mission” e-newsletter.

E-mailed to approximately 3,500 American Baptists, the monthly publication highlights and links to the latest online offerings, such as ABHMS Executive Director Aidsand F. Wright-Riggins III’s video message, ABHMS home-page feature stories and Judson Press items. In addition, the e-newsletter consistently includes links to ABHMS podcasts, press release archive, volunteer opportunities and the Children in Poverty Web page.

According to an online tracking report, ABHMS’ e-newsletter consistently meets or exceeds industry standards regarding the number of recipients who view the newsletter and follow its links.

Dr. Michael Sayler of First Baptist Church of Colorado Springs is among the recipients impressed with “News & Notes from American Baptist Home Mission.”

“The copy is clear, readable and attention-getting,” Sayler says. “There are links to other sites and to further information, and this makes it easy to find what I need with regard to our home mission work.”

The award was presented by Constant Contact Inc., a Waltham, Mass.-based online marketing organization. ABHMS uses Constant Contact’s e-newsletter platform.
